Challenge Packaging is a specialist in corrugated packaging design and manufacture. We work hard to ensure our cardboard box supply is as efficient as possible and extend that methodology into packaging supplies to offer a full service to our customers.

We have one vacancy for a Night Shift Production and Warehouse Manager working 48 hours per week (working hours are between the hours of 5:00 PM and 6:00 AM, Monday to Thursday with one-hour break).

General description of the job



The Night Shift Production & Warehouse Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of both production and warehouse activities during the night shift. This position is designed for a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence. As the primary point of contact for all night shift operations, the manager is entrusted with overseeing the end-to-end manufacturing process, from the coordination of production schedules to the management of warehouse logistics.

Main duties



Supervise and coordinate all night shift production activities, ensuring timely completion of manufacturing schedules.

Lead, motivate, and develop a team of production operatives and warehouse staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Oversee the maintenance and operation of machinery and equipment, reporting any issues or breakdowns promptly.

Implement quality control procedures and ensure all products meet required specifications.

Collaborate with day shift management to ensure seamless shift handovers and effective communication of operational priorities.

Prepare and submit night shift reports, including production output, staff performance, and incident logs.

Responsible for managing assigned NCR cases in a timely manner with robust preventive actions. Monitor performance and trends.

Drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements across production and warehouse functions.

Promote and uphold the company's policies to ensure site safety and compliance status.

Key Competencies / Qualifications Required:



Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a manufacturing or warehouse environment, preferably in corrugated packaging or a related sector.

Skills in preventive maintenance, reliability engineering, and minimising unplanned downtime.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and develop teams.

Good understanding of health & safety, quality assurance, and warehouse management systems.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise across all levels of the business.

Ability to work independently, make decisions under pressure, and adapt to changing priorities.
