Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team of 4 on our Night Shift as Supervisor. The successful candidate will be driven, influential and reliable, with previous experience in a similar role.

Duties

Ensure the shift is compliant with H&S requirements at all times. Challenge any failures in compliance or bad practice using the relevant methods.

Develop a positive, 'can-do' attitude across the shift and promote the Aalco culture.

Assume Line Management responsibility for the Night Shift Team. Monitor and approve annual leave and absence in line with the business' requirements.

Supervise the activity of the Night Shift Team to ensure the day's tasks are achieved on time, ensuring staff are always aware of what they are expected to do, and the reasons why.

Ensure that all jobs are picked, processed, invoiced and packaged correctly and delivered on time.

Support with the route planning and assume responsibility for this in the Planner's absence.

Be proactive in stocking safely and efficiently. Where poor or insufficient packaging, missing labels or unsafe storage is identified, ensure it is rectified as a priority.

Identify and resolve problems as they arise throughout the day. Where any problems need to be escalated, ensure communication is clear and directed to the most appropriate person/team.

Develop and provide training to the team to achieve all available sections of the warehouse competency matrix. Make sure the correct mix of skills is available at all times, including during holiday cover.

Ensure the warehouse is left tidy at the end of every shift, utilise the relevant waste disposal facilities available in line with ISO14001 requirements. Challenge any bad practice.

Manage Night Shift processes and procedures in line with ISO9001 and process document requirements.

Undertake training as appropriate for the role, proactively seek opportunities for self-development with the guidance of the Operations Manager.

Ensure all pre-shift checks are carried out before the start of every shift.

Supervise the loading of vehicles to ensure all loads are correct and not overloaded or dangerously loaded.

Ensure delivery vehicles are offloaded in a safe and timely manner. Escalate any concerns.

Provide full information, using internal document templates where required, and photos where necessary, in any communication with Operations and Sales.

Assist with the recruitment and development of new staff.

Pay: From 38,655.00 per year
