in Tottenham, we're looking for dedicated Waking Nights Support Workers to join our residential children's home.

Working with young people aged 10-17 with emotional or behavioural needs, your calm and reassuring presence overnight helps create the safety and stability they need to grow and thrive. This is more than just a night shift - it's a meaningful role where every hour counts.

Your Role as a Waking Nights Support Worker



You'll create a safe, nurturing environment for young people overnight by:



Monitoring safety and wellbeing through regular checks. Providing reassurance and emotional support. Responding calmly to incidents using trauma-informed approaches. De-escalating challenging behaviour and following safeguarding procedures. Keeping accurate records of incidents, welfare concerns, and observations. Conducting room, fire, and perimeter checks. Administering medication and updating MAR records. Completing domestic tasks such as cleaning and laundry. Supporting breakfast preparation and morning routines. Delivering thorough handovers for smooth shift transitions. Taking part in training, supervision, and reflective practice.

What You'll Bring



Minimum 1 year's experience in residential childcare or a similar care setting (preferred). Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it. A calm, nurturing, observant approach with strong emotional resilience. Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills. Good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed care. Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
