General Summary:



Currently we are in the midst of a recruitment drive for the role of Patrol Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of the Parkguard success story during a period of amazing company growth. We work alongside Local Authorities and the Police to support the public and other partner agencies in the overall management of anti-social behaviour, prevention of crime and other public nuisance issues.

These roles are street-based (public realm) uniformed patrol, deployed in a Police and Local Authority support capacity delivered within Parks, Open Spaces, Housing Estates and Night-time Economy Areas through presence patrolling, enforcement, and harm reduction activities.

Although relevant experience and knowledge is important, we are looking for candidates who also have commitment, drive, and enthusiasm to successfully provide Community Safety services for our Local Authority Clients.

Full, comprehensive, and in-depth training will be provided to all successful candidates at our head office (face-to-face) based in Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire

Role Responsibilities:



Responding to requests for assistance from licence holders paying into the late night levy, supporting management and door staff. Support the public, licensees and other partner agencies in the overall management of public disorder, crime and other forms of nuisance associated with NTE and to minimise risks to public safety and impact on the wider community. To carry out visits and gather evidence for colleagues in other teams such as licensing enforcement. Providing an early intervention style approach by responding to low level, potential or emerging problems and preventing escalation. Engaging with people on the street, supporting door staff dealing with difficult customers to minimize demands on emergency services. Assist and support the public on behalf of the Local Authority with regards to safety and welfare. Detect, Disrupt & Deter offenders and take appropriate enforcement action where required. Process persons for relevant offences and other enforcement actions and ensure that all matters relating to the process of information are carried out in a prompt, efficient manner in line with service and legal requirements. Provide education and awareness-based patrols in the public domain, to manage ASB, prevent crime and other forms of nuisance in a borough/area wide setting. Task hot spot localities identified by the public and the Police and actively prioritise low level and quality of life issues. Work in partnership with Local Service providers: Police, Intelligence Units, Crime Reduction and Community Safety Partnerships. Conducting proactive and high visibility patrols. Identification and intelligence gathering for those committing acts of Anti-Social behaviour and crime in night-time economy areas. Identify safeguarding and welfare related concerns. Providing reassurance and presence to immediately intervene with local concerns. Provide additional support during joint action days with a variety of partners. Providing support and facilitating assistance to the most vulnerable members of public. Taking enforcement action against offenders where necessary.

Role Requirements:



Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Close Protection Licence A Full Valid (Manual) Driver's Licence & own means of transport (Due to variety of work base locations) Able and willing to work unsocial hours (between 17:00-08:00am dependent on shift) Excellent spoken & written English language skills - Ability to communicate effectively with the public and external organisations. Computer Literary is essential for writing accurate reports and communicating via email both internally and externally. Be physically fit and able to patrol on foot and work from a vehicle for the duration of each shift, with ability to deal with confrontational, volatile, and physical incidents as and when required. Be compassionate and motivated to support and help the public. Excellent personal presentation. Be able to self-task and take responsibility for service delivery and development.
This role is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 - All successful candidates will be required to undergo Full Police Vetting.

Police/Law Enforcement Security (SIA) Bailiff Close Protection Military Enforcement Community Safety / Community Safety Accreditation (CSAS)

Salary:

Rate of pay during training 14ph, thereafter paid at 15ph (Circa 35,100 - 42,900 p/a)

Working Days:

5-day week (Thursday - Sunday essential + One other day during the week)

Shifts:

20:00-06:00 Thursday and Sunday, 20:00-08:00 Friday and Saturday + One other late shift (i.e. 17:00-02:00 / 15:00-00:00)

Total hours per week:

Contracted hours are 45hrs per week with overtime available
