We have a vacancy for a night Trainee Veterinary Nurse to join our team. The position will be based in our Brindley Way hospital, just off Junction 41 of the M1.
The ideal applicant would be hard working, passionate and will already have experience of working within the animal care industry and hold relevant qualifications. In house training will be provided.
This position may lead to a Student Veterinary Nurse position in the future, so GCSE's in English, Maths and Science Grade 4 or above (C or above)) are desirable.
This is not a role for an apprenticeship or someone already enrolled in college on a Veterinary Nursing course
The shift time is 7.30pm - 7.30am Monday - Sunday, followed by a week off (7 on, 7 off pattern), averaging 38 hours per week.
This role will suit someone who is self-driven, as you will be required to work without supervision for some elements of the shift. Prior experience in a veterinary environment desirable, but not required as full training will be provided.
Main duties of this role include but not limited to:
Maintaining infection control standards throughout the hospital.
Assisting with inpatient care - walking, feeding, and providing TLC.
Laboratory work.
Cleaning, packaging, sterilising and maintaining surgical equipment.
Assisting the night team with any emergency cases.
Reception duties, answering phone calls and dealing with customers.
This role is full time role, however part-time candidates will be considered.
