We are currently looking for a
motivated and reliable Relief Collection/Trunk Driver / Warehouse Operative
to join our team in Ashby. This dual role supports both transport and warehouse operations, offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to work in a highly regulated and meaningful environment.
Job Summary
As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for the safe and timely collection and delivery of pharmaceutical products, as well as supporting warehouse operations including sortation, loading, and unloading. Flexibility, professionalism, and attention to detail are essential in this role, as is a commitment to safety, compliance, and maintaining product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Driving Duties:
Carry out scheduled and ad-hoc collections between depots and clients.
Operate vehicles in full compliance with GDP (Good Distribution Practice), road transport, and Working Time regulations.
Conduct daily vehicle checks and ensure correct handling of temperature-sensitive goods.
Accurately complete delivery records and paperwork.
Communicate professionally with clients and internal teams.
Provide relief cover for other drivers during holidays, sickness, or peak periods (including night trunking).
Warehouse & Sortation Duties:
Assist with the receipt, scanning, sorting, and allocation of pharmaceutical consignments.
Load and unload vehicles safely, ensuring goods are handled in line with GDP standards.
Support the night sortation process to ensure timely dispatch.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment.
Report any discrepancies, damages, or temperature issues promptly.
Safely operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks and scanners.
Requirements
Valid UK driving licence (Class 2 desirable but not essential).
Experience in pharmaceutical logistics or temperature-controlled transport preferred (training can be provided).
Previous warehouse or sortation experience.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
Flexible, adaptable, and team-focused.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Hours
Standard shift: 17:00 - 02:00 (Monday to Friday)
Flexibility required for earlier/later starts as operationally needed.
