Your Role as a Waking Nights Support Worker



As part of a supportive and dedicated team, you'll ensure the safety, wellbeing and emotional security of young people overnight. Each shift is an opportunity to provide care that makes a real difference.

Key responsibilities include:



Providing a consistent and reassuring presence during the night. Monitoring and responding to young people's needs with empathy and professionalism. Supporting bedtime routines and helping young people settle safely. Promoting a calm, safe and nurturing environment. Completing domestic and administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the home. Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies. Maintaining accurate records, including incident logs and handovers. Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals as required.

What We're Looking For



Essential:



Experience supporting children or young people (residential or similar setting preferred). Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships. Patience, empathy, resilience and a genuine commitment to supporting others. Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection. Flexibility to work a structured rota including weekends and public holidays. A team player with a collaborative approach.

Desirable:



NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Workforce. First Aid training. Experience supporting children with complex or challenging behaviours. Full UK driving licence.
