Core purpose of the role:
Empowering and equipping individuals experiencing addiction, mental health, relationship and financial issues to move on from homeless accommodation.
To undertake a wide variety of tasks including delivering and arranging high-quality, person-centred support. The service is designed to provide emergency accommodation and support to people, many of whom may be going through periods of crisis. The service will be highly flexible and provide high quality accommodation and support to individuals who urgently require those provisions 365 days of the year, 24 hours a day). In partnership with external agencies, the service will work alongside people to help to stabilise their situations, empower them to achieve positive outcomes and enable them to return to or move on to tenancies or other appropriate accommodation.
We are looking for inspiring individuals to become Support Workers based in Glasgow with similar values and who are keen to fulfil the following support:
To support and enable individuals to maintain their accommodation; develop budgeting skills, cook nutritional meals and managing their home.
Signposting and sourcing appropriate services such as Health Care, Housing, Associations, Case Workers, Addiction/Recovery Services.
To carry out assessments and reviews of support needs as and when necessary due to the changing needs and aspirations of individuals.
To carry out Risk Enablement Plans as and when necessary due to the changing needs and aspirations of individuals.
Working with individuals to achieve their desired Support & Development Goals through use of an Outcome Measurement Framework called Better Futures.
To support individuals to improve their quality of life.

Additional desirable qualities, qualifications and experience of the post holder include:
Ability to use your personal skills and experience to help individuals develop.
SVQ 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or a commitment to undertake an SVQ
Registration with the Scottish Social Service Council (SSSC) or a commitment to become registered.
PVG checks will be required for the successful applicant, as are two references, one being from the most recent employer
