Job Description
BHC is one of the UK's leading Structural Steel Fabrication and Construction companies, supplying, and erecting fabricated steel nationwide within the UK and Ireland.
We currently have a vacancy for a Nightshift Shot Blaster to join our team. Reporting to the Production Manager, the role is to prepare materials to correct SA standard for fabrication and painting and ensure a continuous flow of materials from CNC to Fabrication.
Operation of all equipment for the role in a safe manner. Continuous housekeeping ensuring a clean and safe working environment at all times following BHC written work instructions. Complete relevant documentation and record work activity using TnT scanning systems or strumis system. Ensure blaster is performing correctly by carrying out checks on materials. Keeping blast medium within machine topped up and recycling used blast medium back into machine. Communicate with manager and maintenance department to report any issues with machine. Always adhere to BHC Health and Safety procedures.
The successful candidate will be a good communicator, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You should be conscientious, hardworking, flexible and health and safety aware. Previous shot blasting experience in the structural steel industry would be advantageous. The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving appropriate quality standards in a safe manner, whilst meeting production targets.
