We are recruiting to two Practice Consultant positions:
Role 1
- 37 hours per week, North & Broadland, based at County Hall in Norwich
Role 2
- 18.5 hours per week, primarily over Wednesday, Thursday, Friday as this is a job share, West Norfolk, based at Priory House in King's Lynn

You will be joining our established and highly successful Norfolk Institute for Practice Excellence programme to support Newly Qualified Social Workers, those returning to Children's Social Work after a career break as well as international social workers to grow their skills working with children and young people in Norfolk Children's Services
We are looking for someone who has the knowledge and skills to provide practice expertise, reflective space and professional challenge, with a specific emphasis on developing best practice and helping to improve the quality and consistency of practice by developing excellence in others.
In the role of Practice Consultant, you will not be case holding but will bring your knowledge of frontline work to support case holding workers across the county in best practice, to benefit the children and families in Norfolk. There is an expectation that you will be a Practice Educator (or be willing to undertake training to qualify), be confident to provide development workshops and support formal training opportunities for Children's Services staff and partner agencies alongside your peers. If you have not done this before you will be supported to develop these skills. This is a highly challenging and rewarding role for an experienced Social Worker wanting to further develop their skills in supporting others.
The very supportive team consists of seven Practice Consultants who have a wealth of experience and each support a dedicated number of staff to build their skills and experience to be able to offer the best possible service to the children of Norfolk. It is a developmentally focused team who work collaboratively to share knowledge and skills between themselves and with others in the services and teams they support. There are opportunities to be involved in other developmental areas based on need and individual interest, including in vital areas such as anti-racist practice.
