Practice Consultant 8298| Permanent contract | 42,463 to 46,732 per annum (Scale K) | 37 hours per week | Hellesdon Hospital
We offer a 2000 welcome payment for qualified and experienced Social Workers/Occupational Therapists (grade J and above), Practice Consultants and Team Managers new to Norfolk County Council. Amount to be repaid in full should they leave within two years of employment.

In meeting its statutory duty to provide 24/7 access to Approved Mental Health Professionals, Norfolk County Council has developed a core AMHP team which is responds to both planned and urgent responses within core office hours (Monday to Friday) whilst working alongside and in partnership with Norfolk County Council's Emergency Duty Team. Co-located with health partners at Hellesdon Hospital in Norwich, the core AMHP services enables Norfolk County Council to provide a flexible, timely, consistent, and appropriate response to requests across the county. Alongside the triage, management and oversight of daily allocations and case closures, the AMHP management Team are responsible for the management and supervision of Norfolk's AMHP cohort, consisting of currently 80+ professionals.
Working as part of a busy but supportive AMHP management team, the role of Practice Consultant has daily oversight of the AMHP work tray and responsibility for AMHP allocations, requiring the post holder to manage risk dynamically and fluidly. Working across the county with complex, challenging and a changing sector, the role requires excellent planning and communication skills. Due to the unplanned nature and unpredictable demand and capacity of the service, the role enables and embraces compressed working patterns.
