About Us



Granville Community Homes Limited (GCH) is a not-for-profit housing provider delivering social housing and supported accommodation that empowers individuals and communities. Our work is rooted in social purpose, equity, and the belief that safe, secure, and supportive homes are a foundation for a good life.

We provide specialist housing and support for vulnerable individuals--ranging from young people and people with mental health needs to those rebuilding their lives. As we continue to strengthen our governance and respond to sector challenges, we are seeking two new Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to join our Board.

Overview of the Roles



We are recruiting for:
1.

A Finance NED

- ideally with senior experience in banking, investment, or corporate finance
2.

A Housing Sector NED

- with executive-level leadership experience in a registered housing provider

These roles are voluntary and open to people with a commitment to inclusive governance, social housing, and community wellbeing. We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented communities, and from those with lived experience of social housing or supported accommodation.

Role Purpose - General NED Responsibilities



All Non-Executive Directors at GCH are expected to:

Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Board and Executive team Uphold the organisation's mission, values, and social purpose Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory duties (including RSH standards) Hold the executive team to account for delivery of the business plan, performance, and compliance whilst offering independent challenge and support Champion a strong tenant voice, equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) Contribute to risk assessment, business planning, and performance monitoring
We are seeking a finance-focused NED to support financial scrutiny, growth, and risk management.

Essential:



1. Senior-level experience in banking, corporate finance, investment, or financial services

2. Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial governance and risk

3. Ability to interrogate financial performance, forecasts, and value-for-money

Desirable:



1. Accounting or financial qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA)

2. Experience in regulated, charitable, or housing sectors

3. Knowledge of social impact investment, treasury, or ESG financing

Role 2: Housing Sector Non-Executive Director



We are seeking a housing specialist NED with executive-level experience in a housing association or registered provider.

Essential:



1. Proven leadership at Director or Chief Executive level in a housing organization

2. Experience with RSH standards, compliance, asset management, or housing operations

3. Knowledge of challenges in supported housing and community regeneration

Desirable:



1. Involvement in Board governance, tenant engagement, or regulatory reviews

2. Familiarity with care/support commissioning, or safeguarding in housing

Time Commitment & Meetings

Board meetings:

Held bi-monthly, with hybrid options usually done virtually

Sub-committees:

Members may be invited to join (Finance, Audit, Operations)

Time commitment:

1-2 days/month on average

Blackpool - Hybrid/Remote attendance available

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 6,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 7.5 - 15 per week

Schedule:

Monday to Friday
