Job Description

Due to our continued growth and success we are looking for a Food / Nutrition Student or Graduate to join our New Product Development team at our Head Office in Wrexham (LL13 9UG), to start in July 2026 on a 12 month contract.



This is a fixed-term role for 12 months and would be ideal for a current under-graduate looking for a sandwich year placement, or recent graduate looking for their first role.

The hours of work for this role are Monday to Friday 08:00hrs to 17:00hrs.

What would you be doing?



We are a large scale food manufacturer supplying a wide range of bakery products to all of the UK major retailers, Food Service, B2B and Export.

As a member of the New Product Development team you will be involved in all of the below:

Work closely with the NPD Manager & Bakery Specialist's to create feasible products from the Test Bakery and scale up into factory Support NPD Manager with customer submission forms and generating ingredient lists and theoretical nutrition calculations, using Nutricalc software Completing HFSS calculators to support new product development Sending products to the laboratory for nutritional, microbiological and allergen testing Complete organoleptic shelf life reviews Panel products over-life and present at daily taste panels for other departments to taste. Completing market reviews and benchmarking Collating social media trends Support with customer presentations Support with lunches for customers and important visits Attend factory trials and collation of data from trials Build new product quality contracts Ownership of all NPD samples that go out on a daily basis and co-ordination of all sample requests Attend supplier trends workshops Opportunity for supplier innovation trip abroad
The successful candidate for this role will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications and attributes:

Currently enrolled on (or recently graduated) a relevant Food Science, Nutrition or Food Technology degree. Passionate foodie Someone who is looking to embark on a career within the food industry Organised with good attention to detail Communication skills - able to communicate effectively with all levels. Presenting / Panels - confident to present products or processes to others. Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
