An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Technologist to join a leading food manufacturing business. Working as part of a dynamic NPD team, this role plays a key part in the successful delivery of new and existing product development (EPD) projects, ensuring alignment with customer expectations, market trends, and manufacturing capabilities.
You'll be responsible for leading the scale-up process from kitchen to factory, ensuring all product launches are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the NPD team in delivering business and customer objectives, demonstrating a proactive, solution-focused approach.
Ensure NPD compliance with customer policies, codes of practice, labelling, and allergen regulations.
Maintain flexibility and resourcefulness in supporting the wider team.
Carry out any additional duties appropriate to the role.
Specific Accountabilities:
Develop new, market-ready products in line with emerging trends and nutritional guidelines.
Plan and execute factory trials, ensuring projects stay within critical path timelines.
Liaise cross-functionally with development chefs, technical, operations, and retail customers.
Follow NPD processes from concept to launch, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately.
Lead pre- and post-trial meetings and first production reviews for NPD and EPD projects.
Organise and lead attribute panels and cooking validations in line with retailer standards.
Attend factory trials and first productions, ensuring line standards are set and documented.
Carry out shelf-life validations and prepare all launch-related paperwork.
Travel to customer or supplier sites as needed to support projects.
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience in a similar NPD or Process role within food manufacturing is essential.
Strong understanding of food production processes, critical path management, and retailer requirements.
Confident communicator with experience engaging internal teams and external customers.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with retailer portals and technical documentation is beneficial.
Flexible, hands-on approach with a passion for delivering high-quality food products.
