NPD Technologist Position in BS3

Established in 1997, Beyond the Bean shares drink innovation and expertise with baristas and bartenders around the world with our own sense of fun and adventure. From our base in Bristol, we are globally recognised for developing and making award-winning products for bars, hotels and coffee shops. Our collection of brands, Sweetbird, Zuma and Bristol Syrup Company, offer syrups, hot chocolates, frappes, purees, smoothies, chai and sauces. We are also the UK importer for Blendtec Blenders. Our customers range from coffee roasters to food service distributors, online retailers and retail coffee chains. We also work with leading drinks distributors and bar groups. With our own onsite BRCGS accredited manufacturing facility, we're able to support customers from brief to bottle.

Position Overview

As a member of our New Product Development team, you will play a key role in creating innovative products that meet the evolving needs and preferences of our consumers. You will be responsible alongside the Senior process technologist for developing new products from a defined concept, whilst collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring these concepts to life. This role requires a combination of creativity and technical expertise.

Key accountabilities include:

Project management of new products from concept, through development of small-scale concept samples, scale-up to full production and product launch. Create, finalise, and manage internal recipes and hosting internal product tastings For traded goods: working with suppliers to obtain and taste samples, develop product specifications, obtain commercial information and artwork completion - ensuring technical and legal accuracy.
To succeed in this role, you should have:

Experience in new product development, preferably in Beverage
A background in Food Science or Technical

Excellent project management and organizational skills to ensure timely delivery of new products Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams Ability to work on own autonomously and independently. You will be highly organised with good prioritisation skills IT literate
