As a Nuclear Data Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our organization's research and operational capabilities by managing, analyzing, and evaluating nuclear data. Your primary responsibilities will include compiling, validating, and maintaining nuclear data libraries, ensuring accuracy and consistency for a variety of applications, such as reactor physics, nuclear safety analysis, and radiation protection. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams of physicists, engineers, and software developers to support the development and refinement of computational models and simulation tools. Regular duties also include interpreting experimental and theoretical nuclear data, publishing technical reports, and presenting findings at internal and external meetings.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nuclear physics, applied mathematics, or a related field, with hands-on experience in nuclear data evaluation and uncertainty quantification. Proficiency in relevant programming languages (such as Python, C++, or Fortran) and familiarity with nuclear data processing codes (e.g., NJOY, TALYS, or similar) are essential. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences are required. Experience working with international nuclear data standards and databases such as ENDF, JEFF, or JENDL is highly desirable. A master's or doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and at least two years of professional or research experience in nuclear data analysis are preferred.
