Nurse Analyst- Medical Law Services (MLS)

Location-

Hours 35hrs/PW (Hybrid - 2 days in the office a week, though negotiable if needed)

Are you an experienced nurse looking to apply your clinical expertise in a dynamic and rewarding legal setting? Medical Law Services is seeking a dedicated Nurse Analyst to join our specialist team.


In this unique role, you will play a crucial part in assessing the viability of potential clinical negligence cases. Drawing on your medical knowledge and analytical skills, you will evaluate initial case information, advise on the necessary medical records and supporting documents, and complete detailed reviews, including pagination and chronology. In some cases, youll provide a clear opinion on the overall merits of the claim.

Main Responsibilities

:


Reviewing medical records and any other documentation relevant to the case Sorting and categorisation of medical records Preparation of Opinion of Merit (OOM) and chronology to assist the legal team with furthering their investigations and assessment of prospects with a good knowledge surrounding breach of duty and causation Preparing both light/selective focussed, date ranged, full and updated paginations in paperless format, utilising suitable IT programmes, including working with evolving AI tools Undertaking necessary research in order to understand the medico-legal elements of the case, including any relevant professional guidelines Good understanding of GDPR to enable identification of such issues within the medical records Experience led progression towards competing Risk Assessment 1s.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years post-qualification experience in NHS practice / clinical setting as a registered nurse Be able to prepare work to a high level of accuracy Ability to learn and adapt to new working environments Be able to demonstrate analytical skills Excellent communication skills and ability to disseminate information with positivity, attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work within a team both remotely and in person Be highly motivated, organised, and proactive Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining high standards Working knowledge of Audits and interpreting the findings to improve/maintain practice Basic understanding of medical records Experience of using Microsoft Office packages
