Are you a skilled and caring healthcare professional looking to work in a close-knit, supportive environment? Glyncornel Nursing Home is seeking a full-time Nurse Assistant to join our day team supporting the clinical and personal care needs of older adults in a calm, respectful, and person-centred setting.
About Glyncornel
Located in a peaceful residential area of Rhondda Cynon Taff, Glyncornel Nursing Home is a well-established, 16-bed service providing high-quality nursing care to older adults. Many of our residents are living with complex health needs, including dementia and age-related conditions. With a strong team ethos and over 30 years of trusted care, Glyncornel is a home where both staff and residents are genuinely valued.
Your Role
As a Nurse Assistant, you'll work under the guidance of registered nurses to help deliver safe, effective, and dignified care for our residents.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Supporting residents with day-to-day clinical care tasks under the supervision of the nursing team
Assisting with wound care, pressure area monitoring, catheter care, and observations (e.g. temperature, pulse, blood pressure)
Helping with personal care including washing, dressing, and toileting
Supporting medication administration (where trained and appropriate)
Accurately recording care delivered and reporting changes in residents' health
Promoting independence, choice, and dignity at all times
Liaising with nurses and care staff to ensure a smooth handover and continuity of care
Maintaining infection control, hygiene, and safety standards across the unit
What We're Looking For
Experience working in a care or nursing home setting
Knowledge of the needs of older adults, including dementia care
A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
Excellent observation and communication skills
Ability to follow clinical care plans and escalate concerns appropriately
NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards it) preferred
Willingness to complete ongoing training in clinical tasks, safeguarding, and medication support
