We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly motivated
Nurse Deputy Manager
to join our team at Nursing Home. As a Nurse Deputy Manager, you will assist in overseeing the daily clinical operations of the care home, ensuring high standards of care for residents, and supporting the nursing team. You will work closely with the Care Home Manager to ensure the home meets regulatory standards, and is a safe, comfortable environment for residents and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership:
Provide strong clinical leadership, promoting best practices in nursing care, ensuring all care plans and nursing activities are delivered to a high standard.
Assist with the day-to-day management of the nursing team, including training, mentoring, and supervising nursing staff.
Lead by example, providing hands-on care where required, and fostering a culture of person-centered care.
Staff Management:
Support the recruitment, training, and development of the nursing and care team.
Assist in managing staff rotas to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Conduct regular performance reviews and address any staff performance concerns as required.
Care Quality and Compliance:
Monitor and ensure that care delivery complies with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards and relevant healthcare regulations.
Participate in audits, reviews, and inspections to maintain a high standard of care.
Help develop and implement care plans, conducting assessments of residents' needs, and ensuring that care is personalized and meets the needs of individuals.
Health and Safety:
Ensure the nursing home adheres to health, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
Lead initiatives to prevent medication errors, ensure proper documentation, and reduce clinical risks.
Manage the administration and storage of medications in accordance with regulations.
Communication & Collaboration:
Liaise with external healthcare professionals, families, and other relevant parties regarding residents' care needs.
Ensure open lines of communication within the care team and with management, ensuring concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
Participate in regular team meetings to discuss residents' needs, challenges, and improvements.
Financial and Resource Management:
Assist with managing the nursing budget to ensure cost-effective care without compromising quality.
Ensure the appropriate use and maintenance of medical supplies, equipment, and other resources.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Registered Nurse (RGN) with active NMC registration.
Proven experience in a nursing home environment, ideally with leadership responsibilities.
Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to implement best practices in care.
Demonstrable leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
A passion for person-centered care and commitment to the well-being of residents.
Ability to manage staff effectively and maintain a positive work environment.
Knowledge of CQC regulations and other relevant legislative frameworks.
Ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism and empathy.
Desirable:
Experience in a similar Deputy Manager or clinical leadership role.
Postgraduate qualifications or specialist training in a relevant area (e.g., dementia care, palliative care).
Knowledge of Care Home regulations and experience with CQC inspections.

Pay: 23.00-25.00 per hour
