Job Description

An opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice to join our setting and develop their skills within Early Years.
The successful applicant will ideally have a bubbly, enthusiastic character and a willingness to learn while working directly with the children. They will be supported to develop the skills needed to provide high-quality childcare and plan age-appropriate activities within a safe, secure and caring environment.

Our ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Birth to Five Matters, and be able to follow planning for both groups and individual children. As they grow into the role, they will build key relationships with children and take on key-person responsibilities.

Essential Skills and Qualities:
Good communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Use of initiative
Flexibility to work between 7.30am and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

Responsibilities and Duties:
You will learn the foundations of becoming a nursery practitioner and will have the chance to put your theoretical learning into practice. Initially, your main duties will involve supporting children's happiness and wellbeing and meeting their basic care needs. As you progress, your responsibilities will increase in line with your developing skills.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

A genuine interest in a career in childcare
A natural affinity with children and a willingness to learn
Commitment to completing a Level 3 qualification alongside your role
GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4/C or above (or willingness to complete these as Functional Skills during the course)

An enhanced DBS check will be required.

The hourly rate of pay will be reviewed after one year of employment.
