Helping to supervise, feed, and organize activities for children Assisting staff with their tasks and learning of the children. Ensuring safety and hygiene of all children Observing and recording educational and developmental progress of children Liaising with and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, parents, and other professionals Helping to prepare and maintain an engaging and supportive learning environment both inside and outside Getting to know children and their interests Mirroring staff with how they interact with the children to support their play and learning Helping staff with keeping the nursery tidy and resources organised Following and taking instructions from staff Comforting children who are unwell or upset To follow our safeguarding and confidentiality policies and procedures

About our nurseryThe Rocking Horse Nursey is a small homely nursery. We strive to provide a home away from home for our children and parents. We are based on Norwood Avenue in Southport and have excellent public transport links with Meols Cop train station only a 6-minute walk and bus stop's only a 5-minute walk away. We are open 8am until 6pm Monday to Friday and are closed during the Christmas period.What we are looking forWe are looking for an Apprentice working towards their Level 2 or Level 3 qualification to join our small friendly team. The ideal person will be caring and compassion with a love of supporting children to achieve their next steps. We are looking for someone who is proactive and happy to get stuck into whatever activities we are doing with the children and cares about getting to know each child and what their likes and interests are.

We will be offering a minimum of 7.75 from April depending on the candidates age and experience. We are looking for someone to work 3 or 4 days a week and can be flexible on the days. Your working hours would be 9 am until 5pm with a 30 minute break.

You will be working alongside an experienced staffing team who will be there to support and guide you. For a work/ home balance we are closed on Xmas Eve and for 1 week over Xmas.
