Beautiful, bespoke, high quality, modern nursery The Mulberry Bush is recruiting for a Nursery Practitioner Apprentice to join and train to be a Nursery Practitioner at the Waterlooville Nursery.
Contribute to a high quality caring environment for children, including creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally through individual attention and group activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Build good relationships with children
Attend training
Complete all assignments set and on time
Attend room meetings, staff meetings, parents evenings and training
Under supervision, provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding
To assist with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children
To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery
Adhere to the nurseries policies and procedures
Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with
Support all staff and engage in a good staff team
Plan appropriately for children using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and The Mulberry Bush curriculum with support from mentor
Prepare and supervise activities
All trainee duties must be carried out in compliance with the nursery's Equal Opportunity Policy
Be constantly aware of the needs of the children
Respect the confidentiality of information received
Ensure the provision of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development
As part of training you will be required to move to other departments in the nursery to gain knowledge and experience of all age ranges
All staff have a duty to safeguard and protect children from harm, neglect and abuse by following the child protection policy and updating their knowledge often. Ensuring they are aware of the Child Protection Officer and liaise with the Child Protection Officer when appropriate
Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
