We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprentice Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. This paid apprenticeship offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about early childhood education and childcare development. The role involves supporting the delivery of high-quality care and educational activities for young children, fostering a safe and nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, a genuine interest in working with children, and a willingness to learn and develop management and leadership abilities within a nursery setting.
Responsibilities
Assist senior nursery staff in planning and implementing engaging activities suitable for various age groups
Support children's personal, social, and emotional development through attentive care and interaction
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
Observe and record children's progress, behaviours, and developmental milestones
Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare
Support the organisation of daily routines such as meal times, rest periods, and play sessions
Participate in training sessions to develop early childhood education skills
Occasionally assist with administrative tasks related to nursery operations
Drive company vehicles if required for nursery outings or errands (where applicable)
Qualifications
Experience with children or childcare is desirable but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
Knowledge of early childhood education principles is advantageous
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Demonstrated management or leadership potential within team environments
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain if necessary for role requirements
