About Us
Nestlings Eco Nurseries are multi award-winning early years settings based in the heart of Cardiff. We're proud to deliver exceptional care and education in beautifully designed, eco-conscious environments where children thrive. Our team is passionate about nurturing young minds--and we're excited to welcome the next generation of early years professionals through our Apprenticeship Programme.
We're now looking for a Nursery Assistant Apprentice to join our friendly, supportive team at our new location within the David Lloyd Leisure Club.
If you're caring, curious, and eager to start a career working with children, this could be the perfect place for you to grow.
The Role
As a Nursery Assistant Apprentice, you'll work alongside qualified practitioners to support the learning, development, and wellbeing of children aged 0-5 years. You'll be fully supported while studying towards your Level 2 or Level 3 CCLD (Children's Care, Learning and Development) qualification.
Key responsibilities include:
Assisting in creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for all children.
Helping to plan and deliver age-appropriate activities based on the children's interests.
Supporting children's routines, including mealtimes, rest, play, and toileting.
Building positive relationships with children, families, and your team.
Following health, safety, and safeguarding policies at all times.
Learning through hands-on experience and guided mentorship.
What We're Looking For
You don't need to have previous childcare experience--we're looking for someone with the right attitude, heart, and willingness to learn.
Essential:
A kind, enthusiastic, and reliable approach to working with children.
A genuine interest in starting a career in early years education.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to completing an apprenticeship qualification.
Desirable (but not essential):
Any voluntary or paid experience in childcare or education.
Knowledge of the Foundation Phase or EYFS.
Welsh language skills.
Why Join Nestlings?
Free membership to David Lloyd Leisure Club (gym, spa, pool, classes).
Work in a beautiful eco-nursery setting designed around nature and creativity.
Supportive team culture with regular mentoring and training.
Learn while you earn--get fully qualified with hands-on experience.
Annual wellbeing weekend away for all staff, plus regular social events.
Be part of a forward-thinking, award-winning nursery that cares about people and the planet.
