Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant team. As a Nursery Assistant, you will support the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child receives the care and attention they need to thrive.

Duties

Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote children's development across various areas including social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills. Supervise children during playtime and structured activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Support children in their daily routines, including meal times, nappy changing, and personal hygiene. Foster positive relationships with children, encouraging their independence and self-esteem. Maintain a clean and organised environment, ensuring that all toys and equipment are safe and age-appropriate. Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers regarding children's progress and any concerns that may arise. Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in early childhood education.

Experience

Previous experience working with young children in a nursery or educational setting is preferred but not essential. A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children, parents, and colleagues. A patient, caring attitude with a genuine interest in child development. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
