We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for children. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring that each child feels safe, valued, and engaged in their learning journey.
Duties
- Assist in the planning and implementation of educational activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development.
- Supervise children during playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Communicate effectively with children, encouraging their participation and engagement in various activities.
- Support the lead nursery staff in maintaining a clean and organised environment.
- Help manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and transitions between activities.
- Foster positive relationships with children and their families, providing updates on their progress and development.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in early childhood education.
Qualifications
- A background in Early Childhood Education is preferred but not essential; relevant experience with children is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills in English to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to drive may be advantageous for transporting materials or attending off-site activities.
- Leadership qualities to help manage small groups of children during activities.
- Previous experience in childcare or nursery settings is desirable.
- A genuine love for working with young children and a commitment to their development.
