Job Description

Kiddie Capers Childcare Parklands is a 48-place term time setting that provides stimulating and enabling environments for children aged 2-5 years old. We are neighbouring our Hassocks nursery and have a large outdoor area which includes a newly furbished summerhouse and dedicated forest school area. We opened our doors in June 2024 and are excited to be out exploring Hassocks with the children, visiting the local parks, garden centre and shops!

Please note, this role is All Year Round and during holidays, you will assist at the other Hassocks nurseries.

As a

Nursery Assistant

, you will support the care and development of young children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Working under the EYFS framework, you'll assist with daily routines, learning activities, and help build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Main Duties:



Provide high quality care and activities for children which recognise both individual and group requirements in a secure, safe and stimulating environment Organise activities, both inside and outside the nursery, which encourage creativity development, co-ordination, independence, self-expression and learning through play Participate in the keyperson system and be responsible for a group of children, and monitor, assess and record and report on children's development and progress Follow the appropriate guidance and frameworks for younger children, e.g. Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Work in partnership with parents and carers, following the nursery's policy. Prepare and serve food, milk, drinks and snacks to children To actively promote positive behaviour in all areas relating to food, nutrition and eating encouraging good nutrition and sociable eating To prepare areas for eating, ensuring they meet high standards of cleanliness. To mop up and wipe spillage from floor surfaces or meal tables as and when necessary, and to ensure that dining areas are left in a clean and tidy condition Assist children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties

Requirements:



Excellent communication and interpersonal skills An interest or passion for childcare/early years development A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Hours & Pay:


27 hours per week, Tuesday-Thursday 8:30am-5pm
7.55-$12.21 per hour (dependant on age)
