Kiddie Capers Childcare Hurstpierpoint is set in a small local village with access to local parks and a recreation ground surrounding it. We provide forest school sessions that allow the children to discover and explore the outdoors, promoting children's confidence and independence, as well as allowing them to risk take in a safe environment. We have a specific baby area for children between 0-2 years, providing them with enabling resources and sensory materials to learn and flourish. Our preschool area is designed to meet the needs of children aged 2-5 years, providing stimulating and creative environments for them to continue to grow and learn new skills. We also provide resources for them to become ready for their school transition. Our outdoor garden space is enclosed and private with many opportunities for developing understanding of the world and its surroundings including a sand pit, baby garden, kitchen area and we also take trips around the village using local transport and exploring our surrounding areas.

As a

Nursery Assistant

, you will support the care and development of young children in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Working under the EYFS framework, you'll assist with daily routines, learning activities, and help build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.

Main Duties:

Provide high quality care and activities for children which recognise both individual and group requirements in a secure, safe and stimulating environment Organise activities, both inside and outside the nursery, which encourage creativity development, co-ordination, independence, self-expression and learning through play Participate in the keyperson system and be responsible for a group of children, and monitor, assess and record and report on children's development and progress Follow the appropriate guidance and frameworks for younger children, e.g. Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Work in partnership with parents and carers, following the nursery's policy. Prepare and serve food, milk, drinks and snacks to children To actively promote positive behaviour in all areas relating to food, nutrition and eating encouraging good nutrition and sociable eating To prepare areas for eating, ensuring they meet high standards of cleanliness. To mop up and wipe spillage from floor surfaces or meal tables as and when necessary, and to ensure that dining areas are left in a clean and tidy condition Assist children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties

Requirements:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills An interest or passion for childcare/early years development A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Hours & Pay:

40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, flexible
7.55-$12.21 per hour (dependant on age)
