We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and passionate
Nursery Assistant
to join our founding team and help shape our new provision.
Key Responsibilities
Teamwork & Daily Practice
Work collaboratively with other staff members to maintain a safe, clean, and engaging nursery environment
Assist with daily routines, hygiene standards, and activity planning
Establish positive working relationships with children, families, and colleagues
Child Development & EYFS
Support the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
Contribute to short- and long-term planning, ensuring individual learning needs are met
Help prepare a rich learning environment using indoor and outdoor spaces creatively
Deliver inclusive practice that meets the needs of all children, including those with SEND
Safeguarding & Welfare
Adhere to all safeguarding and child protection procedures
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Keeping Children Safe in Education(KCSIE)
Promote the safety, welfare, and emotional wellbeing of every child in your care
Understand and apply Prevent Duty guidance
Health & Safety
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
Ensure safety of all children and staff at all times
Promote healthy routines, including during mealtimes and physical play
Parent & Community Engagement
Build strong relationships with parents/carers, encouraging their involvement in the nursery
Participate in nursery events and contribute to newsletters and updates
Represent the nursery's values and ethos with pride and professionalism
Person Specification
Essential:
Experience working in an early years setting
Good working knowledge of the EYFS and child development
Passionate about supporting young children to reach their full potential
Good communication and teamwork skills
Paediatric First Aid (12-hour) qualification or willingness to obtain
Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
Desirable:
Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
Experience supporting children with additional needs
Experience in a start-up or newly established nursery setting
