Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a strong foundation in early childhood education. As a Nursery Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, supporting their development and learning through engaging activities.

Responsibilities

Assist in the daily care and supervision of children within the nursery setting. Help plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, and social development. Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to foster a supportive community. Maintain a safe, clean, and organised environment for children to learn and play. Support the lead nursery staff in managing children's behaviour positively and constructively. Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to parents and staff as necessary. Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth running of the nursery.

Experience

Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable. A background in early childhood education or relevant qualifications would be advantageous. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with children and families. Leadership qualities are beneficial for guiding younger staff or volunteers within the nursery environment. A valid driving licence is preferred but not mandatory for this role.
