We're seeking a confident and proactive Nursery Assistant Manager who will partner closely with the Manager to lead the team, maintain high performance standards, and uphold company policies.
This role requires balancing approachability with professional boundaries, ensuring consistent communication between management and staff, and supporting management decisions.
As our Nursery Assistant Manager, you will:
- Act as an extension of management, ensuring decisions are implemented consistently.
- Be confident in handling difficult conversations and disciplinary processes.
- Report directly to the Manager, supporting company objectives and maintaining professional boundaries with the team.
About the Role
At The Magic Roundabout Childcare Centre Ltd, every day is an adventure! You'll be the right hand to our Nursery Manager,
ensuring both of our sites run like clockwork. Some days you'll be supporting in the rooms, sparking joy and curiosity in our little learners;
other days, you'll be in the office helping to plan, organise, and keep things running behind the scenes.
What You'll Do
- Support the Manager with the daily running of the nurseries
- Work across both sites to ensure consistency and quality
- Step in to lead the team when the Manager is away
- Assist with staff management, resources, and curriculum delivery
- Balance both office-based and on-the-floor work
- Build fantastic relationships with staff, parents, and children
- Help create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment every day
What We're Looking For
- At least 2 years' experience in a senior role within an early years setting
- Must hold a relevant childcare qualification for Scotland (HNC Childhood Practice or Level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People))
- Must be willing to work towards or have already started the BA Childhood Practice
- Must be willing to register with the SSSC
- Must take part in required training and complete PVG membership
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A team player who's happy to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in
