We are looking for a Nursery Assistant to joing the team. Qualifications are not required, but some previous experience of working with children would be desirable.
Established in 1997, the small and friendly nursery is situated in the village of Brafield-on-the-Green. It is in an idyllic setting, a quiet location on the edge of the village, next to the church. One of the nursery's most attractive features, and extremely popular with the children, is the wonderful outside space and gardens, fully enclosed and secure for the children to enjoy. The nursery gardens offer plentiful opportunities for outdoor play and learning, which is a key aspect of Acorn's ethos. Pre-school children have regular Forest School sessions, either in the nursery garden or at nearby Salcey Forest.
The building itself was formerly the village primary school and, whilst retaining the character of the original architecture, it has been sympathetically refurbished to provide a warm and homely environment. The rooms provide light and spacious play areas, with a child-centred focus.
Steph and her team work closely with parents and carers to develop children's interests and skills, ensuring each of them reaches their full potential. A variety of imaginative and creative play activities can be enjoyed alongside regular outings and trips.
We're proud to be one of the leading childcare providers in Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedford with over 35 years' experience who specialise in nature pedagogy and promoting the professional development of our employees. We are really proud to have recently been awarded a Top 20 DayNurseries group award. As a not-for-profit organisation, Acorn always puts the needs of the children first, meaning you will be working for a business that cares about more than just profit.
The position is full time working 40 hours per week (you would be required to do a variety of early and late shifts , early shifts can start as early as 7.15am and the late shifts close is 6.15pm). We very much welcome candidates that are looking to progress their personal career development . The ideal candidate will be passionate, motivated and enthusiastic about outdoor learning and creative play.
Successful applications will need to provide 'right to work in the UK' documentation and undertake a DBS check. Acorn Childcare is committed to safeguarding children and promoting the welfare of children, we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
