Job Description

Role: Nursery Room Leader: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day including 30 minutes paid lunch break, hours on a rota basis will be between 0715 and 1800 with some overtime.

Qualification required: NVQ Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum

Salary Range: Negotiable dependent on experience and qualification.

Unicorn Nursery is a well established busy nursery located in a privately owned building.

We are looking for a room leader to join our team and work closely with the nursery management.

You will need to have the appropriate skills to give support to the manager as well as the whole nursery team, the applicant needs to be dedicated and passionate about working with children and their families to deliver high quality care and learning experiences in a safe and happy environment, with a sound knowledge of the early years foundation stage, safeguarding and welfare.

The desirable candidate will have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in partnership with parents and to manage, motivate and inspire the unicorn team.

The main role of the Deputy is to ensure the high standards of care, safety and education is provided at all times and to take on the lead role in the absence of the manager.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following;

Supporting the manager with the overall running of the nursery and be responsible for some administration duties. Overseeing the delivery of the EYFS through inclusive practice, ensuring a high level of learning and development is achieved by all children at the nursery. Keeping up to date with the current Ofsted legislations and ensuring these are continually put into practice. Meet individual children's needs through observation, planning and assessment and help guide all staff with this. Communicating and working with outside agencies to support individual children, parents and the nursery team. Have extensive knowledge of safeguarding
