Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Breakfast Staff member to join our childcare team. The candidate must be able to work from 7.15am to 9.30am. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious breakfast meals to children in a safe, caring, and organised environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children. The ideal applicant will demonstrate strong management and leadership skills, along with effective communication abilities to foster a positive atmosphere within the nursery setting.

Duties

Prepare and serve healthy breakfast options in accordance with nutritional guidelines and safety standards Supervise children during breakfast time, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Assist with organising activities related to mealtime, promoting good manners and social interaction Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining area before, during, and after service Support children with their dietary needs and preferences, providing personalised care when required Collaborate with other nursery staff to ensure a smooth transition between breakfast and morning activities Monitor children's behaviour during meal times, encouraging positive interactions and behaviour management Keep accurate records of children's attendance and dietary requirements

Skills

Previous experience in childcare, nursery environments, or early childhood education is highly desirable Strong management and leadership capabilities to oversee mealtime routines effectively Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written Ability to work well with children, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding Knowledge of childcare best practices and health & safety regulations Organised with the ability to manage time efficiently during busy periods Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving transportation or errands related to nursery operations
