With three nurseries currently under development (two in Manchester, one in Liverpool), we're looking for a strategic and driven Business Development Manager to help shape and grow the future of our brand.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Nursery Business Development Manager to lead the development and operational setup of three nurseries in the Manchester area. Based at our head office, you will work closely with the company directors to ensure each nursery opens successfully and meets our standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and launch of three new nursery sites across Manchester and Liverpool.
Manage project timelines, licensing requirements, staffing plans, and compliance milestones for each site.
Use analysis and market research to identify local opportunities, pricing strategy, and demand.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, working closely with contractors, consultants, and local authorities.
Support with staff recruitment planning and onboarding strategy in collaboration with HR.
Drive pre-opening marketing, community engagement, and enrolment activities to generate early interest.
Ensure all nurseries meet regulatory and Ofsted standards from the outset.
Monitor budgets and work within financial targets set by the company directors.
Provide regular progress updates to the directors and flag risks or issues early.
Contribute to shaping operational policies and the overall strategic growth of Rainbow Tots.
Skills & Experience Required:
Proven experience in nursery or early years business development, operations, or multi-site management.
Strong understanding of EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and relevant health & safety regulations.
Excellent organisational and project management skills.
Commercial acumen and experience working with budgets and financial targets.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and report to senior leadership.
A full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites when required.
Desirable:
Experience launching or managing multiple nursery settings.
Background in early years education or childcare operations.
Familiarity with the Manchester/Liverpool childcare market.
