Have you got a passion for providing healthy and nutritional food for young children?
At Small Talk Nurseries Castle bromwich, we have a brilliant opportunity available for a part time (16-20 hours per week) Nursery Cook to work Monday - Friday. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, allowing you to prepare and cook fresh, healthy and highly nutritional meals for children aged between 6 weeks - 5 years.
Start date is 12th January 2026 onwards
The successful candidate must be able to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a current Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate
- Ideally have an awareness of Environmental Health guidelines
- Adhere to the food & drink policy and health & safety procedures
- Undertake any relevant training, and when required, to train other members of the kitchen team
- Ensure specific dietary requirements are met
- Regulate kitchen stock control
Interview Process:
-Stage 1: Interview either face to face or via Teams
-Stage 2: Work trial consisting of cooking a dish selected by the nursery manager
We are committed to Safeguarding children, child protection and you will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and provide 2 valid and up to date references. Due to the nature of the work, we will require an additional criminal records check (or checks if more than one country) for anyone who has lived or worked abroad.
