Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef to join our private nursery setting. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. As a Chef, you will play a vital role in meal preparation, ensuring that each dish is prepared to the highest quality and meeting the dietary needs of our children following setting the table guidance. This post will be based at Wee Gems Broxburn however will be catering for our sister nursery at Wee Gems Corstorphine. This means we will require someone with a valid driver's licences and access to own vehicle.

Duties

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Assist in the planning and execution of daily meal preparation, including special dietary requirements. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management. Collaborate with other staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service during busy periods. Participate in training new staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
Skills

Proven experience as a Chef in a restaurant or similar environment. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary skills. Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal presentation. Strong communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen. A willingness to learn new cooking techniques and adapt to menu changes as needed.
