We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary skills, a deep understanding of food safety, and the ability to lead and manage a kitchen effectively. This role requires a commitment to high-quality food production and exceptional hospitality standards, ensuring that every dish served meets the needs of the children and satisfies the guidance set out by Care Inspectorate and the Scottish Government.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and preparation.
Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed while minimising waste.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
Collaborate with staff team to ensure children's needs are met including allergy needs.
Develop new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and statutory guidance.
Requirements
Proven experience in a similar role within hospitality or a nursery.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary practices.
Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
On occasion support nursery out with nursery hours for parent's evenings or other events.

Pay: 13.21 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
