Abbey Nursery Houston is seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and management, with experience in catering. Your expertise in menu planning, food safety, and kitchen management will be essential to maintaining high standards of quality and service.
Duties
Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality of food preparation and presentation.
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current Setting the Table guidance
Manage food production processes, including inventory control, food handling, and safety regulations.
Monitor food costs and manage inventory to maintain profitability while minimizing waste.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the kitchen environment.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to sanitation standards.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role within the food industry or catering environments.
Extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
Familiarity with menu planning
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of dietary department practices is a plus; experience with special dietary needs is beneficial.
Ability to maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation at all times.

Pay: 12.25-12.26 per hour
