Abbey Nursery Houston is seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production, kitchen management, and menu planning.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
Develop and design innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences.
Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen.
Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and preferences.
Monitor food preparation processes to ensure quality control and consistency in presentation.
Maintain effective communication within the team to foster a positive working environment.
Skills
Proven experience within the food industry or catering settings.
Proficient in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen management practices.
Knowledge of inventory management practices to optimize stock levels and minimize waste.
Familiarity with menu planning that caters to diverse tastes.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining food safety standards.
Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.
