Job Description

Nursery Chef is needed for a private Daycare Nursery Located in South East London.

The Applicant must have knowledge and experience of working and providing food to young children within the setting. You will be required to cover our snack, lunch, tea requirements for the children in attendance.

Your other duties and responsibilities will include: -

Being responsible for the day to day running of the Nursery kitchen . To prepare and present freshly cooked meals including a dessert for the children. You must be able to provide suitable alternatives to accommodate those children with allergies, particular dietary requests and those who observe religious beliefs. Adhere to the 'Safer food better business' standards and record keeping. Collecting and cleaning the crockery, pots, pans and cutlery. All meals must be balanced, healthy and fresh. Complete food orders within the allocated budget and the appropriate timescales for deliveries. To adhere strictly to Food Hygiene Regulations and other safety procedures at all times.

Person Specification - Experience & Skills Required:

Food Hygiene Certificate Health & Safety Requirements Ability to communicate with staff Experience in a commercial kitchen Maintain equipment and ensure a tidy environment Ability to work alone or as part of a team Ability to work to a budget Able to work within a busy environment Be flexible Ability to handle situations calmly Ability to use initiative To be self-motivated Willingness to undertake training as and when necessary
If Application is successful, we will also ask for you to do a days trial preparing one of the meals from the menu you have provide.

Required licence or certification:

Level 3 Food Hygiene Clear DBS check 2 references
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: 12.50-16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week
