Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Chef

to join our friendly team and play an essential role in supporting children's healthy development through nutritious, home-cooked meals.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook balanced, age-appropriate meals for children, including breakfast, snacks, lunch, and tea, with minimal waste. Plan menus that meet children's dietary, cultural, and allergy requirements in line with nutritional guidelines. Ensure all dietary requirements are clearly communicated to the nursery team. Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen. Manage food stock rotation, ordering, and storage effectively. Meet all health and safety, food hygiene, and fire safety regulations, completing required paperwork accurately. Follow COSHH guidelines and maintain safe use of cleaning materials. Take part in staff meetings, nursery events (such as BBQs and fetes), and occasional cookery activities with children. Report any repairs or maintenance needs to management promptly.

What We're Looking For

At least

1 year's experience

as a chef in a catering or nursery environment.

Food Hygiene

and

Food Safety ( Level 2)

essential. Strong knowledge of food standards, allergies, and dietary management. Understanding of

COSHH

and safe kitchen practices. Passion for nutrition and inspiring healthy eating habits in children. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Friendly, reliable, and able to work under pressure with a positive attitude.
