Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and preparation, with a flair for creativity and innovation in the kitchen. As a Chef, you will be responsible for cooking the meals for the children, ensuring high standards of food quality and safety, and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our children. This role requires excellent organisation skills and ability to work using own initiative.
Responsibilities
Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring efficient food production and service.
Develop and design menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and culinary trends.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Ensure all meals produced meet the dietary requirements and allergies of all children.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth service during peak times.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Ensure consistent presentation of dishes to meet the nursery's quality standards.
Experience
Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant, hospitality or child care environment.
Strong background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices is essential.
Culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
