Broadhurst School is seeking an experienced and passionate Room Leader to join our thriving Early Years department. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled early years practitioner to take a leading role within a well-established and highly regarded school.
About the Role
The Room Leader will take day-to-day responsibility for leading a class group within our EYFS setting, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning and care. You will plan, deliver and assess stimulating, age-appropriate learning experiences, monitor progress and support the development of each child. As Room Leader, you will also direct and support other adults working within the room and report regularly to the Headmistress.
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, delivery and assessment of the EYFS curriculum
Monitor, record and report on children's progress and development
Create a nurturing, stimulating and well-organised learning environment
Direct and support teaching assistants and other adults in the classroom
Communicate effectively with parents and the wider school team
Ensure the highest standards of safeguarding, welfare and health & safety
About You
CACHE Level 5 or higher qualification in childcare/early years education - essential
Substantial experience working with children aged 2-4 years
Proven ability to plan, assess and monitor progress in line with the EYFS framework
Confident in leading a team and managing a classroom environment
Highly organised, reflective and committed to continuous improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
First Aid and Safeguarding training desirable (can be provided)
