Here at Little Angels Nursery & Pre-School we are on the look out for an experienced Nursery cook/housekeeper. The ideal candidate will oversee the running of our kitchen & will report to the Nursery Manager and Assistant Nursery Manager. (Subject to a enhanced DBS check).
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and clear, collect, load and unload dishwasher and serve meals and snacks taking into account children's dietary requirements.
Complete daily, weekly and monthly Health & Safety checks as required.
Ensure the laundry is kept clean and clear. Collect, load and unload washing machine and dry and fold in timely manner. Ensure laundry is washed appropriately.
Support the Nursery Cleaner with cleaning duties in and around the Kitchen.
Support the smooth running of the Nursery by serving meals and snacks on time.
Fill out all relevant food hygiene paperwork.
Support the staff in day to day tasks including but not limited to unpacking deliveries
Ensure the Nursery is kept tidy and safe for children, staff and visitors.
Create the weekly shopping list
Bake for special events. E.g, graduation party, Christmas party etc.
Report any maintenance issues that prevent safe and efficient cleaning of these areas.
Ensure there is sufficient stock levels of food & cleaning materials for the kitchen.
Ensure areas are kept secure at all times
Be committed to the safeguarding of all children
Observe and comply with the Little Angel's Health and Safety policy and Code of Practice
Observe COSHH regulations and the safe use of chemicals
Any other duties as assigned by the Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager
Person Specification
Knowledge on food hygiene & food hygiene qualification - essential (However, for the right candidate we will provide food hygiene training)
Knowledge of Manual Handling regulations - desirable
First Aid qualification - preferred but not essential
Food allergy training - we can provide
Have proven experience in a similar role - essential
Experience of working in a busy kitchen - essential
Safeguarding children training - we will provide
Food hygiene training - experience required
Hours
This position is Monday-Friday 9-1 all year round or term time only.
We close on bank holidays & through the Christmas period.
