As part of the Chalk Nursery Group, Coombe Dingle is one of several small, welcoming nurseries across Bristol. We pride ourselves on our child-centred ethos, warm team culture, and beautiful environments for children aged 3 months to 5 years.
We are currently looking for a friendly, organised and proactive Nursery Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our team at our beautiful Coombe Dingle nursery setting.
In this role, you'll support our Catering Manager with the day-to-day running of the nursery kitchen. You won't be working alone - this is not a Head Chef position - but your contribution will be vital in ensuring our children receive fresh, healthy meals every day.

About the Role
Assisting with preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children, with attention to individual dietary needs and portion sizes
Washing, peeling, chopping and preparing fruit, vegetables and other ingredients
Supporting the chef with cooking, baking, and light food preparation
Cleaning utensils and kitchen equipment and ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times
Helping with stock rotation, food storage and kitchen organisation
Recording fridge and food temperatures and assisting with food safety logs
Covering for the Catering Manager during annual leave or absences (with support)
Adhering to food safety, allergen, and health and safety regulations at all times
Playing a key role in ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly and supports our commitment to healthy eating and child wellbeing
What We're Looking For
Some experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment (nurse-ry/school setting a bonus)
Comfortable working in a support role, taking instruction from a Catering Manager
Understanding of dietary needs, allergens, and food hygiene practices
Flexible, reliable and proactive with a positive can-do attitude
Strong organisational and time-management skills
Holds or willing to obtain Food Hygiene Level 2 certification
Passionate about promoting healthy eating in early years
