Circa 21,061pa | 13.50ph (Depending on experience and qualifications)

Hours:

Monday-Friday | 30 Hours per week | 12:00pm-6:00pm

Contract:

Permanent | All year round

part-time Nursery Kitchen Assistant / Cook

to join a small and friendly nursery in

Wokingham, Berkshire (RG40)

.
The nursery cares for children aged 3 months to 5 years and offers a bespoke, nurturing environment that values strong parent partnerships, outdoor learning, and high-quality early years education.

This role is ideal for a caring and creative individual who enjoys preparing nutritious meals and supporting a busy nursery environment. You will be responsible for planning menus, cooking daily meals, and ensuring all dietary needs and allergies are met.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children Plan menus in line with dietary requirements and allergies Support supervision and room cover during staff break times Carry out laundry duties Complete general housekeeping tasks, including cleaning and tidying kitchen and communal areas Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety at all times

About You

o Minimum 1 year experience as a nursery or school cook / lunch assistant

Proven experience managing dietary requirements and food allergies Highly organised and able to work independently Strong commitment to safeguarding and confidentiality Ability to work collaboratively as part of a nursery team Excellent written and spoken English communication skills Eligible to work in the UK
