Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Cook to join our nursery team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in meal preparation and food safety, with the ability to create delicious dishes in a busy nursery. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering high-quality meals to our children.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the planning of menus. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations at all times. Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste. Participate in regular staff meetings to discuss menu changes, relevant things in the setting and staff development Safeguarding children plays a vital part in this role. You must be willing to train in Safeguarding and Pediatric First Aid

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of food safety practices. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation. A passion for cooking and creativity in meal preparation is essential.
