At Big Robins Nursery, We have a vacancy for a cook (Maternity Cover - one year contract) within our busy nursery.

This is post is Maternity Cover - one year contract only. Monday to Friday 8.00am - 1.00pm. until Friday 28th August, however this is flexible.

As a nursery cook you will be providing our children with delicious, nutritious snacks and meals. Additional duties will include planning and ordering the food within the budget.

Daily responsibilities include keeping the kitchen environment clean and tidy and leading annual food hygiene inspections, maintaining our 5 star rating.

We are looking for someone who:

Enjoys Cooking and working with Children Be able to implement and maintain high levels of sanitation and food hygiene. Have good administrative skills when record keeping, ordering, and budgeting Shows initiative, can work under pressure, has good organisational skills, is flexible and has good time management. Has an understanding of children's dietary requirements and food allergies. A food hygiene certificate is desirable however if the successful candidate does not already have one then training will be provided.
The role of nursery cook will include:

Follow all kitchen policies and procedures and maintain all EHO documentation. Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness of the kitchen ensuring EHO requirements and legislation are consistently met. Preparing and cooking seasonal, traditional 'home cooked' meals and snacks for children aged between three months and five years. Work with the nursery manager to develop delicious, nutritional, seasonal menus and weaning plans Supporting with activities such as baking with small groups of children. Maintain a smart appearance
