Position:

Deputy Manager (Full-Time, Permanent)

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day running of our nursery in the Billericay area, while being a hands-on inspiration to both children and staff.

What's the Role?

As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure everything runs smoothly, safely, and joyfully. You'll help lead and support a fantastic team, while still being actively involved in the rooms--because the best leaders dive into story time, sand play, and snack prep too!

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Manager in delivering outstanding early years care and education Act as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and promote a safe culture throughout the setting Mentor and support staff, conduct supervisions, and help with staff development Lead by example in the rooms - building bonds with children and role-modelling best practice Be confident with nursery systems including EY Log, EY Engage, EY Manage, and People Bunch Assist with rota planning, family communication, administrative tasks, and nursery organisation Step up confidently in the Manager's absence
What We're Looking For:

Level 3 qualification (or higher) in Early Years Previous experience in a senior or deputy role within a nursery setting Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development A warm, professional, proactive team player who leads with care and positivity Great organisational skills and confidence with digital systems Someone who thrives in a fast-paced, fun-filled environment where no two days are the same!
